Big Idea: Observation and description of changes in the world around us are
the first steps in finding and learning about patterns.
INV 3 Essential Question: How can I visually explain situations where one thing changes based on another?
Investigation 3
Mathematical Reflections
1. On a graph the increase of the y and x-axis would make the points go up higher. On a table, the numbers for the data would be higher.
2. On the graph the points would be challenging to see because they would go more along the graph then up. On a table the numbers would be very strange. Under a big number would then be a smaller one.
3. Points on a graph lie straight if the data is a linear relationship.
4. You should connect the points when you have layed up all the points.
Summary:
Think that it is actually very tricky trying to fit in all the data very well into a graph. A table might not be as hard. You could see the data clearly but the work to get there would be harder.
